7 Keys to a Great Session
October 6, 2021
ANNOUNCEMENT: MASTERMIND EVENT NOVEMBER 12-13 Embassy Suites, Berkeley Heights, NJ
GUEST: Benson Poh and Grace
LESSON: 7 KEYS TO A GREAT SESSION
“IT STARTS WITH YOU, BUT IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU.”
How can we make this experience the best possible things for our customer.
Trainers/Coaches: Before you start a session, do an energy check. Positive energy is just as important as showing up on time. Hire people with positive energy…hire people with batteries included. Does this person have their shit together at home…is this person a hot mess?
Train your staff: Create an alter ego – never cares about themselves, only cares about the member and what the member deserves. (Leaping Leo, Fantastic Frankie, Vivacious Vanessa).
You support your staff…but not on your client’s time.
#1 DO NO HARM, BUT MAKE THEM USE 2 TOWELS
Memorable is portable, when you remember something, you will carry it with you. We have a duty to our clients to keep them safe…never put your clients at risk. BUT, they should be sweating their asses off!
#2 HAVE A PHD IN THE LIVES OF THE GFP MEMBERS (YOUR MEMBERS)
At GFP we have cards on each member during the session. On the card there is information about the person, as we learn more about the person we add to the notes on the card. Family info, personal info, injuries, body parts causing issues. The original card is filled out during consultation, the trainers add to it as information is shared. The cards are pulled right before the sessions.
#3 KNOW THE ABC’s (ALWAYS BE COACHING)
Before, during and after the session.
#4 3 REP, 1 CORRECTION/COMPLIMENT AND MOVE RULE
Especially in small group, keeps your trainer moving around the room
#5 TALK LIKE TONY (Tony Robbins)
Your voice is how you show your presence. Your trainers must have confidence in their voice.
#6 FREDDIE MERCURY RULE
Song: Body Language…Open stance, do not cross your arms. Do not lean on the wall, no hands in pocket.
#7 DO NOT STAND STILL
Trainers and clients…give the client an individualized exercise to do so he is not standing around waiting
QUESTIONS
Jonathan Sorto: As owners, we know trainers will come and go. In that moment you might learn something on what you see, and you address it with that trainer. What is the best way to have systems
Benson Poh (guest): Opening a new facility in a few weeks, across the street from current location. I am the only trainer right now; I am looking for ideas to prelaunch the brand and get founding members in to help fill in the blanks. I currently have 30-40 clients and they are all doing 1:1. I am trying to encourage them to do small group training. This is not done in Singapore, so I will be testing this out. I have not done any marketing in the past, only passive referrals. Singapore is a city, similar to London. People are paying $800 per month.
Nick Butler: Hired a new trainer, he started all went well. He went out to dinner with is wife and then sent a text stating he needs more hours right away?
Thiago Santos: With the holidays coming, I write a handwritten note and put in some gift cards for friends/family. But I also want to do referrals right now, is this too much to ask?
Thiago Santos: Trying to think of an offer…I have a list of 300 people and send them a message and make an offer to this people, I am trying to think of an offer
BOOK: Gary Vaynerchuk’s book: Jab.Jab.Jab. Right Hook.
Thiago Santos: Trying to maintain clients during the holidays. Has anyone done anything like this?
Joe Hashey: Project Zero
