WHAT’S WORKING NOW

NICK BUTLER:  Following up on social media posts, doing back-end work by responding/messaging people.

MARLON GOMEZ:  If clients miss a class, reaching out and holding people accountable; letting people know that you care.  Trainer/Coach- texting clients during the warmup while they are taking attendance.

NOAM TAMIR:  The Netflix Close (Trial flows right into the membership…client gets $200 discount if they do this).  Consult over the phone, come in for a studio tour, do the trial which flows right into the membership.  Also doing 3x/wk – if we don’t see a client for 3 days in a row, we message them to get them in.  The Community Manager is responsible for reaching out to the clients.    Noam had a call with Tom Leonardis – switched from offering 8 days to 12 day trial (3x/wk)

GEORGE MCGUIRE:  $200 trial/30-day trial, then we will meet to decide what we want to do.  If you sign up and commit to 12 months, you get the first month free.   Cancellation Policy – the client pays ½ of the value of the contract

LESSON:  4 DRIVERS OF REALITY

ALL PROGRESS STARTS WITH THE TRUTH

What are the top 5 brutal facts about your company?  - What is the reality of today and until we understand reality today, we can’t make progress.  (Tim Ferris Podcast with Jim Collins)

REALITY:  Neither the way things appear to be or the way you wish they would be; but the way they actually are.  The single biggest cause of failure is the refusal to recognize reality.  Pay attention to your SCOREBOARD and what those numbers say, they are the only thing on your agenda that is your REALITY.

RELATIVITY:  In order to settle on a rational course of action or inaction, one must first weigh all facts and carefully define his terms.  SUCCESS- a relevant term…Success in your life is different than the success of other people.  Don’t compare yourself to others.  WRITE DOWN YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS.  Unhappiness is chasing something that you don’t even know what it is.  Success to Vince:  Am I present where my feet are.

RELEVANCE:  No matter how true something is, the primary factor to take into consideration is how relevant it is to your main objective.  Relevance:  Being able to pay attention to what is important and deflect the things that you don’t.  If you don’t know what you want, no one can help you.

MORTALITY:  Nothing more real than none of us are going to make it out of this alive.  How do you want your time on this planet to be?  What do you want it to be like?  Do our actions reflect that?

ICE BALL THEORY – the sun is 5 billion years old and has 5 billion more years to live…the sun will burn out and the earth will be one big ball of ice.  Eliminate stress and ENJOY THE QUEST FOR SUCCESS.  When you relax a little bit, you will start feeling more successful.  Learn to relax & let go…Controlling your emotions is the #1 thing to be successful in business.

GO FOR ALL YOU CAN WHILE YOU ARE STILL VITAL ENOUGH TO PLAY THE GAME!

There is no way out alive, so what’s the point in being timid.  Don’t play small, enjoy the ride.  Relax.  Control your emotions. These are the things that will take your business to the next level.

QUESTIONS:

JOHN BEDEL:   How do you address small inconsistencies with a new trainer, such as not thoroughly demonstrating exercises?

SEAN CRYAN:  Hired 1st trainer in June 2021 who was pursuing a PT Assistant Job.  Signed him on for 20-25 hrs/wk; he got a PT Assistant Job and is saying he can only pick up a few classes per week.  He is our only trainer…have you been in this situation on how to talk to him?  NEVER BE HELD HOSTAGE BY YOUR STAFF!  ALWAYS BE RECRUITING.
